I've been trying to keep my wings a flutter to stay motivated and exploring that ever ending road of creativity. I am so thankful I have art as my passion and outlet to express myself. Pain in my legs and back have become a constant companion which can be so mentally demoralizing, but creating art has helped me to soar above it when I feel I can't take it anymore. Everyone needs to find something they feel passionate about to help them soar into
heavenly realms of bliss and loose their self in the process.
A dear creative friend of mine sent me a wonderful gift this past week that lifted my spirit with surprise and awe. I love Linda's work, there is something very soulful about what she does and touches me in ways not many can do.
October's celebration of "Day of the Dead" is a time for remembering those that have passed on, but not forgotten. I created an altar scene for the Art League Gallery that honored my maternal grandfather. The focal point of the altar was a mosaic piece that I made which featured two little boys of the late 1800's. The photo of the boys represented the lineage of hard work, goals and dreams that my grandparents and ancestors created to pave the footsteps of their heirs. This art piece is actually a light that can be turned on and lights up the little boys, it is entitled, "This Little Light of Mine".
November's show "Art to Wear" at the Art League Gallery accepted one of my beaded cuff bracelets to be on exhibit . I forgot to take a picture of it before I entered it into the exhibit, so I'm posting a picture of a different cuff...totally different, but you'll get the idea. I learned how to make these cuffs at ArtisticArtifacts by Elizabeth Woodford.
On December 2,3,4 The Art League will be having its holiday sale at the the Madison Street Annex. This is a ceramics show featuring the art work of the students and associates.
Some of the work I'll have on sale are my "Peeps" and a selection of "Wise Women".
